You Make My Heart Sing

tisdag 29 januari 2013

Hello friends!
Now I'm finally back after a little break here on the blog.
It's been quiet here because I've done 47 wedding invitations (not to my own), then I've been a little sick, and this weekend I have been on a ski training camp. So it has been busy!!!
But today I have a new card to show.

For this card I first took a piece of fabric and painted it with white gesso. After it dried I stamped directly onto it with stamps from Crafty Secrets Bird Notes set. These stamps were also used for the small tags.

I stitched the fabric piece in half over papers from the Meadow Lark Collection from Prima Marketing and a filmstrip.

The swirls are made of wax paper with one Shapeabilities Floral Fluorishes die.
A lovely vintage lace were adhered at the bottom.
I made a bow out of seam binding, natural twine and a button. I finished of with crystal rhinestones.
Okay that´s it for me...now I have to clean the house: /
Have a great day!
Hugs, Birgit

Tuesday Throwdown - Bling It On

Wild Rose

onsdag 23 januari 2013

Hello friends!
I hope you are doing well ... wherever you live.
Here in Sweden we have full winter now, snow and cold, brrrr ... but it's also very beautiful.
Today I have a card to show that I have made with the largest of Nestabilities Labels Eight dies.

Some time ago I bought some beautiful journaling cards, but unfortunately I lost the manufacturer's / distributor's name.(Shame on me...) Since I had not the heart to hide this beautiful rose behind some other image, it got its very own card.

The notes and the swirl is made with Die-namics dies. I wiped on little white Gesso on the notes, and then they got a layer with Glossy Accents.

The sentiment from You Do were stamped on a little tag and adhered together with red twine.
I also used white pearls and a doily. Oh, I forgot to mention that I used papers from Bildmålarna.

It was a pretty simple card to make this time but that's what is so exciting about making cards, that everyone becomes so different.

Here are some challenges for this card:
Make It Monday - Anything Goes
Crafty Boots - New (new dies from Die-namic)
Allsorts Challenge - Flower Power
Challenges 4 Everybody - Anything Goes
Deep Ocean - Anything But Square

Wish you a nice day!
Hugs, Birgit

"Top Talent Thursday" on Our Creative Corner

torsdag 17 januari 2013

Hi there!
A special welcome, I say to all of you who have found your way to my blog from Our Creative Corner today.
I´m so excited and honored to share with you that I´m presented with a brief question and answer session along with my project on the Our Creative Corner blog:) Yahoooo! I´d be delighted  if you wanted to take a peek.

If your not familiar, you have the chance to be a part of "Top Talent Thursday" simply by joining the next challenge.

For this project I wanted to try to combine both an image and fabric along with some different colors and techniques.
So I began by spraying a piece of fabric with different Dylusions sprays. Then I sewed the image from PION design on it, along with the black cardstock on the back to make it stiffer.

Then i stamped with various stamps and heat embossed with white embossing pouder on both fabric and image. Then I used a Mini numbers stencil from TheCraftersWorkshop and black Acrylic paint to make the numbers.

For the heart, I used a Nestabilities Classic Hearts die on a piece of linen. On top i added crackle paint, Tim Holtz chitchat words and a red stamped punch out heart.

To the card base, I used some old papers from Crafty Individuals that I thought matched. I finished of with a beautiful lace, flowers, a charm and some other small items.

Here are some other challenges for my card:
Try It On Tuesday - Let´s Get Stitchy, Real or Faux
Sparkles Forum - Die Cuts & Flowers
Tuesday Throwdown - Frame It
Make It Monday - Anything Goes

Damn, Now It Became Too Late...

tisdag 15 januari 2013

Hello there!
The days just run away and it feels like I'm not really in sync with them:)
Tuesday already, but here is now a card that can be good to have if we've missed someone's birthday for example.

For this card I used the sketch over at Stamptacular Sunday.
I colored the sweet "Amy" from Whimsy Stamps whith Copics and Glossy Accents. Then I cut her out and adhered her over Pretty in Pink papers from Glitz design.

The sentiment from K-designs was heat embossed on a tag. It is difficult to translate, actually it rhymes,  but something like this maybe: Damn...Now it became too late, yet well meant. Congratulations in arrears!

A corrugated cardboard butterfly was sponged with Distress ink and adhered together with flowers and pieces of a Cherish Border from Memory Box.

As you can see, I also used a bit of ribbon and lace, some small die cut hearts, pearls and a piece of natural twine.

Here are some other challenges I want to join in:
Make It Monday - Anything Goes
Allsorts Challenge - Dies and Punches
Delightful Challenges - Add Hearts
Stampotique  Designers - Die Cuts and Punches
Bearly Mine - Anything Goes

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

His Trip...

fredag 11 januari 2013

Good morning all!
Today I´m back with another card made to all men out there who are just waiting to get one:)

For this one I used up the remaining papers from Prima's Printery Collection.
I used stamps from Tim Holtz and combined them with images from Inkido, with different destinations. I get really eager to travel myself actually when I see the pictures.

I tore a piece of a Coredinations paper to a suitable length, then I embossed and sanded it. I placed it behind the car and the travel images.
The car was black heat embossed and cut out, I addhered it with 3-D foam. I stamped directly on fabric ribbon with a couple of different stamps and attached them behind the car.

The sentiment "Life is not the days gone by, but the days we remember" was cut out from a Pion design sheet.
I stamped with some other round Crafty Individuals stamps, and a piece of a fence cut out in the lower left corner finished of my card.

I´d like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Paper Crafting Journey - Anything Goes
Inky Impressions - Add a Sentiment
Frilly and Funkie - Follow Your Muse ( make more cards for men)
Divas By Design - Anything Goes
Make It Monday - Anything Goes

For The Gentleman

tisdag 8 januari 2013

Hello friends!
I have promised myself that this year I will make more cards for men:)
So therefore I started the year by acquiring some new appropriate stamps, and also already done a couple of pieces. Here's the first ...

I have used some old Prima Marketing paper from the Printery collection, which I like very much.
And of course the stamps from Darkroom Door.
But besides them, I have, by the way just used oldies from my stash.

I found a great sketch for the card at The Sweet Stop Sketches, that I have used.
The round sentiment stamp in the upper left corner are from Rox Stamps.

I cut out a piece of wax paper and crumpled it up, then stitched it into place.
A watch charm, pieces of ribbons and laces were also adhered together with a ticket to the opera house:)

Here are some challenges I found for this card:

Papertake Weekly - Happy New
Make It Monday - Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamp And Show - Embrace the Old
Craft Your Passion - Vintage or Shabby Chic
Ett Trykk - Klokker

Well, I think this will be all from me today. Have a great day!

This Little Heart...

söndag 6 januari 2013

Hello everyone!
It has managed to be late Sunday night, and finally I have time to sneak in and work a bit on my PC:)
This card I made for a little boy who will soon be celebrating his 4 th birthday.

I think he likes bright colors, (and it makes me happy too) so I made the background paper myself  by using some old colors that originally where meant to paint eggs for Easter with.
The sweet Puppy Love image is from Bugaboo stamps, and I colored it with Copics and a little Glossy Accents on the heart.

I attatched the image over a frame cut and embossed with a Nestabilities Heart Circles die.
I punched out a border with a MS punch and attached it together with a piece of leftover Christmas paper. The sentiment are from You Do. I finished of with a ribbon tied to a bow, a flower and some rhinestones.
It's not much more to say, it is a fairly simple and quick card to be made by me.

I enter it in the following challenges:
C.R.A.F.T Challenge - Make Your Own Backing Paper
Robyns Fetish - Anything Goes
Totally Gorjuss - Anything Goes
Challenges 4 Everybody - Anything Goes
Dream Valley - Anything Goes
Wags´n Whiskers - Anything Goes
Stampin With The Dragon - Anything Goes

So that's all for me today. Thanks so much for stopping by!
Hugs, Birgit

You And Me, That´s We

torsdag 3 januari 2013

Hello friends!
I hope you all have had a good start to the new year. I've already written the wrong year, and it will surely be more times I guess:)
My daughter wanted a card to a couple of their friends who are getting married now in January, a real winter wedding in other words.

And since I just peeked in at Svensk Scrapbooking and seen their sketch challenge, I thought to use it to my card.
Since it would be a greeting to the bride and groom on the inside, I thought it would be nice if you could open it up, and therefore it became like this.

The image is a freebe from a magazine, unfortunately I do not remember which, because it was a while ago. I just colored it up a little with Copics and then added Star Dust Stickles. I drew around the edge with a black pen.
The paper I used are from Best Creation, they have lovely glittery papers perfect for weddings.

I used flowers and roses in pale colors. A doily and swirls, both in rhinestones and white made with Shapeabilities Floral Fluorishes was also adhered, together with a silvery metal corner in the upper left.
The sentiment was made with a stamp from Stämpelkällan.

I also want to play along with my card in the following challenges:
Party Time Tuesdays - Celebrate
Crafty Creations - Anything Goes
Robyns Fetish - Use a Doily
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes
Stamptacular - Doilies Galore
Inky Impressions - Anything Goes

I hope you all enjoy a happy and productive day with a lot of crafting:)
Hugs, Birgit
