Confirmation Card Again...

fredag 30 maj 2014

Happy Friday!
I have made yet another confirmation card and this time it became a card in vintage style.

I decided to try a new card fold I found the description to in the latest issue of the magazine Ett Trykk. But I do not know how I was thinking, of the course you should use a round or oval die for this! Which I did not and then it immediately became a problem ... there was some tinkering before I got it to work, and here are the result.

I used papers from Maja Design Vintage Summer Basics paper pad and a vintage image I think was from a Pion design sheet.

I also used some dies and they are: Nestabilities Classic Ovals Large, Shapeabilities Window Three, Sheapabilities Fancy Tags, Memory Box Fresh Foliage.

For the sentiment I used a stamp from Vilda Stamps, and then I finished of this project with some other stuff from my stash.
I wish you a great weekend! Here where I live, nature is at its most beautiful right now so I'll enjoy it as much as I can.
Hugs, Birgit

Enjoy All Of Life's Moments

tisdag 27 maj 2014

Hi there!
Tuesday again, and we´re almost passed the month of May, how did that happen ...? Anyway, I have a new card to show today with some thoughtful words.
"Life consists of both large and small moments. Enjoy them!"

I started by inking up watercolor paper with a few different blue Distress inks, and then spray over it with water. Thereafter I ran it through the "Cuttlebug" embossingfolder from ProvoCraft and added a little white Gesso on the raised flowers with my finger.

I cut it down, and adhered a die cut from Memory Box "Kensington Border" on the left side. The sentiment from Rox Stamps was stamped in StazOn Olive Green and then heat embossed. I finished of with a little metal charm.
Thank you for visiting!

Confirmation Card

söndag 25 maj 2014

Hi everyone!
And once again, I welcome you to my blog. Today I´m sharing a confirmation card that I have made for a girl and I think this type of card is called recessed window card.

I started by coloring the "Lupita" digi image with my Copics, under the image I added some Stampendous Aged Silver embossing pouder and heated in. I punched out three butterflies with my Martha Stewart punch and added Silver Mix glitter to one of them and sprayed it with pink color.

I used papers from K-design and the sentiment stamp are from Vilda Stamps. The swirl I cut out with a Die-namics die and dyed it with Dusty Concorde Distress ink topped with glimmer mist. I had some leftover things on my desk from previous projects that now came into use, a chipboard heart, a die cut leaf and a couple of pins.

The metal corner was first painted with white gesso and then a second time with black acrylic paint. After it dried I sanded it a bit for a worn look.
The card was finished of with pearls, ribbons, twine and a metal cross.

Thanks for visiting my blog, I wish you all a wonderful day wherever you are!
Hugs, Birgit

Now It Grows Green...

måndag 19 maj 2014

Hi everyone!
I hope you had a nice weekend, the Monday is almost over here with me too... I´m back from a busy week but now I want to show you a new card that I have made.

Green and brown does not appear so often in challenges or on blogs, but I love this color combination, especially this time of year and for Christmas.

I used Spellbinders Card Creator dies and an image from PION design "A Day in May" that I cut out with a Nestabilities Labels Four die. I sponged the edges and the die cuts with Distress inks.

Some flowers, rhinestones and natural colored paper twine finished the card of.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Hugs, Birgit

Hi again!
Well, I´m so happy to be back and able to share a new card with you. I saw a sketch over at CAS on Sunday and thought that this one, I must try:)

For this card I used a piece of left over design paper from K-designs, and the Pixie Flower die from Memory Box. I cut out the flower in white CS and then colored it with some Distress inks. The flower also got some Glossy Accents on and a big rhinestone in the middle.

The left over CS (with a hole in), I then used as a stencil with Black Soot Distress ink to create shadows on the design paper. Then I cut the paper piece into three parts and added them with 3D foam to my card.

I stamped the Inkido sentiment, cut it out and added a couple of stripes from the design paper, on both sides of it.
That was it...hope you are having a great day!
Hugs, Birgit

Flowers For You

söndag 11 maj 2014

Hello friends!
Thank you so much for popping by again. I wanted to give today's card soft pastel spring colors to celebrate the arrival of spring, and then I thought the  "Flower Fairies" stamp from Whimsy Stamps with all the flowers suited well.

I colored my fairie with Copic pens and then I added a little Platinum Stickles for a little shimmer. I cut out the image and ran it through one of the embossing folders from Sizzix Scallop Heart Doily Set. Then I sponged over it with Spun Sugar/Victorian Velvet Distress ink.

The sentiment was cut out with a Memory Box Teramo Labels die, then added with spring green ribbon and a brad.

It's a pretty simple card but I think it has a fresh feeling ... just like spring:)
Have a great Sunday!
Hugs, Birgit

Hello!
Today I´m sharing a male card, I think it´s time for that. It is all too easy to forget them when, at least I comes to cardmaking. This is my verson of a male Spring Card.

Many men want to spend their time in nature and the first insects for the year must be a sign of spring as good as any ....

I wanted to try out a new paste I got that leaves a "sandy" results. I applied it through a dots stencil from Wendy Vecchi. The trees was stamped and cut out with Sizzix Alterations Holiday Joy set. I first clear heat embossed the stamped fly from Stampers Anonymous Tiny Things set before I cut it out.

On the right inside I attached a couple of strips of fabric tape.
I believe that time flies if you love being out in nature. I wish you a great day where ever you are right now!
Hugs, Birgit

To The Best Mother In The World

onsdag 7 maj 2014

Hi everyone!
Today I'm really happy because I've been invited to be a guest designer for Crafting By Design. I´m so excited to be joining along the ordinary design team in the new challenge "M is for Mom".

I combined a couple of Anna Griffin's stunning papers, I get so happy by the colors and the flowers and I hope mom will be it too. I made the sentiment on my computer and then I chose one of the small stamps from Stampers Anonymous "Tiny Things" collection and stamped underneath.

I used Nestabilities Floral Ovals dies to cut  the sentiment out and then added it to my card. I finished of with pearls that I colored with Copic pens to get different shades, a flower and a ribbon bow.
Okay...that´s all for me. The other teamies have put together some really fabulous projects to inspire you for this challenge, why not stop over and check them out here?
Wishing you all a happy day!
Hugs, Birgit
